FOUNDER STORY

Built by
a Resident.

Kiara Hawkins, Founder & CEO
Luxury is
Personal.
Luxury is
VIP.
"It isn't just marble countertops, stainless-steel appliances, covered parking, or a gym that is used by only a handful of residents.
Luxury living is a home that complements each residents lifestyle.
And I don't believe that philosophy should belong exclusively to self proclaimed luxury apartments.
Whether someone lives in conventional multifamily, student housing, affordable housing, or a senior community, technology should make living there feel more convenient, connected, consistent and personal.
Apartment living shouldn't feel like a collection of transactions or "renting a room".
It should feel like a home.
That's the future I'm building VIP Living towards.
Not more technology just for the sake of more technology.
But better technology for the sake of luxury, convenience, and personalization.
I'm building an ecosystem that will help the evolution of residential living feel more seamless.
We have a long way to go but I believe VIP Living will add great value to this industry.
Sometimes the biggest shifts begin when someone experiencing a problem takes matters into their own hands to be the solution for finding a solution.
— Kiara Hawkins Founder & CEO, VIP Living
I didn't discover this problem from the outside looking in.
I actually live it.
More than 38 million people in America call an apartment home...including me! And for something we simply call “renting,” an incredible amount of life happens here.
It's where someone gets the keys to their first place after college.
Where couples move in together.
Where babies come home.
Where people work remotely.
Recover from surgery.
Start businesses.
Lose jobs and find new ones.
Retire. Downsize.
Celebrate milestones, and chase new ones.
An apartment may be a unit on paper but to the person living there? It's home.
Yet somewhere along the way, the technology surrounding apartment living became much better at helping properties operate their communities than helping residents actually live and enjoy their communities.
